Production Blog: Beginning our filming
Welcome back everyone to another blog. In my last blog, I mentioned my partner and I finalizing some decisions to help prepare for the filming process. On Tuesday I got a job as mentioned in my last blog as well. Hence, we will likely only be able to film during the weekends. If I have any days off during the week, me and Melissa will try and film. She also brought her sister along with her since she will be the one playing as the girl being kidnapped. Once they arrived we prepared our filming location which is outside the apartment building and inside my apartment. We recorded the first few scenes using my phone. We could have used Chelsea’s or Melissa’s phone but my phone has better camera quality. Throughout the opening scene Melissa sister’s costume consisted of pajamas and casual clothing appropriate for school. My costume consists of black clothing such as a black shirt/hoodie, dark pants, and possibly a future ski mask. I did not buy the ski mask yet so when I do we will then add it to my costume. We started filming in my bedroom for the scene with the Kidnapper
putting their weapons into their bag. For this scene we waited a little later in the day as the sun goes down. That way the room would appear dark but not too dark for us to film. We used a little lamp in the room as lighting for the scene. We mainly remained inside to film rather than go out to film the scenes outside the building. We hope to record those scenes by next week. Do know we are not perfect at acting but me and Chelsey tried their best. Time to time, we did laugh and joke around just to brighten up the mood. Chelsey would laugh whenever the camera went very close to her face. So we did have to do some retakes and later on as we edit we will choose the best one. Regardless of that we were still able to get some filming done which we are happy about. This weekend me and Melissa will not be able to film or meet up. She will be going to her dad's house in Miami.
