Planning for my Walmart Great Value water bottle commercial

Planning Blog

Props:

Since I am doing a  water bottle commercial, my main prop would be the Walmart Great Value water bottle. An additional piece that I am going to use is a soccer ball.

Costumes:

In my commercial, I will use myself as the subject and use my brother, godbrother, and cousin as additional members to help me play some scenes. We will all be in athletic clothes. I would wear leggings or gym shorts, a sweatshirt, sneakers, and a headband; My brother will most likely wear a pair of gym shorts, a shirt, and either his cleats or sneakers; My godbrother will most likely be wearing sneakers, a t-shirt, and shorts since he is a little toddler. My cousin will most likely wear sneakers, shorts, and a shirt. My brother and godbrother's hair is short, so they would not need anything for their heads. My cousin and I, however, may put our hair in updo hairstyles or hairstyles that will keep the hair out our faces.

Schedule:

On 10/21/20, I researched conventions and codes of water bottle commercials and looked and compared many water bottle brand commercials.

On 10/22/20, I thought and established what I would use as props, costumes, and what my additional crew will wear, the location list, and my back up plan.

On 10/24/20, I will create the storyboard for the 30 seconds commercial.

On 10/25/20 - 10/28/20, I will film and record the shots needed for my commercial.

On 10/28/20 - 10/30/20, I will edit and add the final touches to my commercial.

Set:

I will be filming all my shots and scenes in the comfort of my backyard.

Location List:

My location would be my apartment backyard. There is a pretty big vast area of grass that I can use for my running scene. There is also a circular pavement that I can use for the dancing shoot that I am planning to do. I can even use it for the running shot if I do not want to run in the grass. I will use the grass to shoot my soccer scene in which I will involve my younger brother, godbrother, and cousin. These scenes would help to show my need for water to help energize after all the sweating and working out. As well as how refreshing the water would be to me after feeling exhaustion and dehydration.

Backup Plan:

If the weather decides to rain on the day I am filming, I would film in my living room, and probably the apartment hallway and stairs. In my living room, I would do the dancing shot and the running scene in my hallway or up the stairs. For the soccer scene, I could either try to do it in my living room or use the entrance opening of the hallway to shoot it. It has been raining almost every day this week, so the possibility of me having to use my backup plan and film indoors is high.
