Starting the Final Task

 Hello everyone, once again my name is Kendia Banks, and welcome to another blog chain. I'm in the 12th grade as some of you may already know, so this is sadly but fortunately my last year of high school. I know I have been MIA (missing in action) for a little while, did you guys miss me(¬‿¬). No, oh ok (ಥ_ಥ) Well, for those that did. don't worry because I am back again with another project that I know you all will hopefully love. For this assignment, I have to create an original opening scene. It has to be two minutes long, which is longer than the music video I did previously, which was thirty seconds. It also has to be an original idea meaning the whole movie is based on what I want it to be about and not the recreation of an opening scene from a published movie. I think I work best with others when it comes to media projects, so for this assignment, I will be working with a partner. 

If you have read the other blogs before, then you would know that I worked with my friend Melissa Meme on assignments done before. So for this project, I will also be working with her once again. 

Why not work with someone new you may ask. Seeing as I have already worked with Melissa on numerous assignments before I believe that doing this project will be beneficial for her and me. We already know how the other is and what each person brings best to the table. We also live near to each other, so meeting up to film will not be a problem due to distance. We are also best friends, so we are on the phone every day for at least thirty minutes or more. So why not be productive and silly at the same time. Plus, this is beneficial as having friends that not only bring fun to the table but academics as well is crucial for any friendship. We must uplift each other not bring each other down. Nevertheless, stay tuned for more blog updates and I hope you guys will love our opening scene.

Filming and Editing: Planning our schedule

 As you all know I am working with Melissa on my final task project. We have decided that our film will be a crime action thriller. We have also agreed on the wide view scope that our film is going to portray. We have been busy these past few days due to our personal life and school. Hence, we haven't had the time to begin filming for our final task. Due to corona, there are some setbacks as well as I had to talk to my mom first and make sure she was okay with us going to each other houses to film. Fortunately, even though my mom is strict on social distancing and staying to herself, she has given me permission to meet up and film. Although, she still does not like the whole meeting up sense of it and continues to remind me to make sure that safety guidelines are being practiced. Planning for my Walmart Great Value water bottle commercial

Planning Blog Props: Since I am doing a  water bottle commercial, my main prop would be the Walmart Great Value water bottle. An additional piece that I am going to use is a soccer ball. Costumes: In my commercial, I will use myself as the subject and use my brother, godbrother, and cousin as additional members to help me play some scenes. We will all be in athletic clothes. I would wear leggings or gym shorts, a sweatshirt, sneakers, and a headband; My brother will most likely wear a pair of gym shorts, a shirt, and either his cleats or sneakers; My godbrother will most likely be wearing sneakers, a t-shirt, and shorts since he is a little toddler. My cousin will most likely wear sneakers, shorts, and a shirt. My brother and godbrother's hair is short, so they would not need anything for their heads. Planning Storyboard

We went through our storyboard first to get an idea of what sound and dialogue we would have in our final task. I worked on the storyboard drawings. Even though I am not be the best artist I still tried my best. Melissa worked on some of the descriptions of each scene. With our storyboard it should help to make filming easier since there is a lot to record. We do think that along the way there might be changes to the storyboard. We hope that our final task turns out well :)
