The Process of creating my Walmart Great Value Water Bottle Commercial

On Thursday, October 29th, which was my brother's birthday, I started filming my commercial. Originally, I was supposed to be the actor and someone would have been filming me. However, my parents are at work during the day so they cannot help me. Teaching my younger brother to take the shots would also have been too much of a hassle. Therefore, I decided for me to film and my younger brother to be the actor. For the scene, he was wearing gym shorts and a shirt with a pair of sneakers. I told him what to do and showed him how to do it for some scenes. He gave me a bit of trouble to do some of the scenes but I was patient with him and we got through most of the scenes without much hassle. In the first scene, I had filmed the area of my backyard so it did not require his presence yet, so he was inside putting on his sneakers. During the second scene in which he was doing the running scene, we had to take it a couple of times. Sometimes we had to retake it because I forgot to end the scene with it going back in the grass that would help me with transitions. The other times was because either he was too far or came too close, so when I took the running seen it was more than fives seconds and he was too far or too close for the scene to end showing him at a medium shot. When we finally finished this scene he was more than happy to move to the next one because he was complaining and tired of the running scene. The third scene was him doing karate, this scene didn't take much time. We did a couple of retakes but it was either because the part to for the transitions was not good or I did not close up or a low angle the way I wanted to. The fourth scene was the bicycle scene. We took this scene a variety of times. I mean more than the running and karate scene added together. He kept on either riding too fast or went the wrong way, and he would start riding before I started to film. Furthermore, since I wasn't using a tripod and was filming from my phone, I had to be walking/running beside him without shaking the camera too much. I believe a proper way of saying this is that I was taking a tracking shot. The next couple of scenes we took was of him drinking water after he finished each activity, this didn't require many retakes and we finished this part pretty quickly. The last scene I filmed was my younger brother putting don the water bottle. I only filmed this part twice but I think I might retake this tomorrow morning because the video seems a little dark. Overall the whole filming process took us about an hour or less and after the editing, I think that my commercial will look pretty decent.

Here's a little peak :)
