Reflection of my Great Value Water Bottle Commercial
In my commercial, I used conventions factors such as setting, character, and significant object. When I was doing my research on different water bottle brand commercials, I noticed they used a more naturistic scene. In most of the commercials I watched, I saw the camera either flowing with the river, filming a water droplet falling off a tree leaf, or splashing into a pool of water. Or if it is like the Deer Park Born Better commercial the camera went through a cave. Another example of a commercial I watched was the Dasani commercial. In the Dasani commercial, you saw the water flowing around in a three-dimensional figure, then a water droplet splashed into a pool of water and a plant grew then the water bottle came out of the plant. I found this cool because they incorporated nature into their theme and it was beautiful to watch. Inspired by these commercials I chose to use my backyard which has a wide area of grass, a river on the other side of the fence, and trees all around. I hoped that this setting and theme would create a natural environment similar to the other water bottle commercials I have seen. I also used a character in my commercial like in the Selena Gomez water commercial. However, instead of singing and dancing my younger brother who was the star of the commercial demonstrated activities that would make one thirsty and tired after taking part in and in the desire for water. My significant object through my commercial was the Great Value water bottle because the whole commercial was based on this water bottle brand. By the way, if anyone would like to get one, it can be found at the Walmart closest to you. Also, I feel as if my commercial also interacted with the audience. I believe that everyone can relate to being tired after doing an activity and wanting something refreshing like water preferably room temperature or cold. I also think that those who have tasted the Great Value water know how refreshing it is as well, and know that it does wonders for them after they are exhausted from doing an activity or extremely thirsty. A way that I would want more audiences to know about this water although is through tv commercials because if being many people procrastinate a lot and watch tv or have the tv playing in the background and pick up somethings being said on the tv from time to time. So if this commercial is on replay eventually they will become aware of the Purified Drinking Great Value Water. Furthermore, one thing I can say for sure that improve through me doing this commercial was my editing and shooting skills. Before this commercial, my editing skills were not very bad, but it was horrible compared to Oscar films. After this project, I think that it is still horrible compared to the Oscar films but it has improved. I cropped two videos and joined them together which I felt was a big achievement because before I could not do that. I also learned how to take the sound off the video clips which was very important in the creation of my commercial. This was very important in my commercial because in the video shots I took, you could hear me telling my brother what to do and I sounded pretty loud seeing as though my mouth was right behind the camera. Taking the sounds of the videos also helped the music to sound nice, clear, and more upbeat. Lastly, before I take off, I would like to give credit to Clipchamp. This app was amazing to me. It is like an advanced editing app but for beginners. Clipchamp made taking off the audio for the video shots very easy, as well as putting the clips together. So if you are to want an editing app that is quick and easy to use, Clipchamp is the one. However, I was told that it does not go over seven minutes but I do not know that for sure, so one day soon I will put that to the test and see if that statement is factual.
By everyone and have a nice day. Hope you liked my commercial and its process :)
